Event history

The Surftech SUP Winter Classic was established in 2012 to showcase the waters surrounding the beautiful Mornington Peninsula as offering all year round stand up paddling locations.

With two amazing paddling locations to choose from – Port Phillip and Western Port – paddlers on the Mornington Peninsula are spoilt for choice, whatever the wind direction.

More than 50 competitors from interstate and overseas took part in the inaugural event in 2012 and with the number increasing 60 in 2013, the event is certainly gaining in popularity.

Support from local Mornington Peninsula businesses also ensured the success of the event with a range of prizes on offer from restaurant and accommodation vouchers to cash and equipment.
